Jeans jeans jeans And furever friends. Childhood memories.

When I first wore jeans, my stepfather was horrified! I used to clean the decks in those, he said.

In the sixties, denim symbolized rebelliousness. MLK made jeans popular. In the 1800s and 1930s, jeans were for workers. Marlon Brando always wore jeans on screen and off.

In the 80s and 90s jeans became tighter and tighter, now baggy jeans are the norm again.

Stone-washed jeans were outed for darker denim.

Denim almost became a uniform over three decades….now baggy jeans are back!

Great for casual wear. Did you follow the denim trends? Do you still wear it? My wardrobe is full of recycled denim, jeans, skirts, dresses, coats, and recycled jackets with the sleeves cut off, and embroidered.

I always have had a fondness for trams. I remember them as a child and the lovely colored tickets for different fares, they still have them in many countries.

I remember my Friday treat if I was good, a strawberry ice cream in a cafe listening to violins playing, (even if I was naughty) the pink ice arrived, and my trip to an aquarium to watch the fish was a weekly treat.

Then a procession of Furever friends. A poodle named Pooh and a cat called Horace.

And a whippet a good racer.

Now furever friends are named after cars!

Furecedes, Pursche, and Cattilac and not Pooh like my poodle, but Mini pooper. LOL

Had two slowcoach Tortoises Maurice and Doris, a rabbit and two blue budgies, luv animals to this day.

So how time flies, I was born in the last century, and how things have changed.

My Great Grandmother had long plaits coiled like earphones, and her hair was jet black. She lived till 98.

Fluffy earphones on buses remind me of her.

Can't believe its 23 years since we had the milestone of the year 2000. And the futuristic 2001 came and went.

So post memes, gifs, trailers, pets you've had/have, music music music, memories memories memories.

Themes memories, denim, and pets, their antics and names.

Enjoy

Color Color Color Chameleon

Colors mean different things in different cultures.

Brides wear white wheres in China they wear red. We wear black to funerals and the Chinese white.

Flags use color as symbolic: yellow is money, blue for peace, green for agriculture, red for blood that was shed, a sun for power, or a crescent moon and stars.

Colors can represent emotions: red for passion or anger, blue for peace or calm, green for envy or jealousy, yellow for cowardice or happiness, orange for energy, white for purity.

There are seven colors in the rainbow and a rainbow is for hope.

There are seven chakras in the body to open for meditation.

We don't all see the same colors….

Dogs see blue gray and yellow.

Birds see more colors than humans, they have additional color cones and are sensitive to ultra violet light.

Again cats and humans are different.

Flowers also have a different color meaning. We post a lot of flowers here

🙂

Roses especially!

Post music on the color theme, flowers, images, movies….w

hat are your favorite colors? What colors are in your home, or do you wear?

Remember No politics here, no religious comments and all, comments based on respect for others.

Enjoy the discussion Lian.

It's gonna be a long hot summer!

What does summer mean to you?

Suddenly our summer is here, and in two days it's becoming hot!

I like the beginning of summer, but not when the temperatures go well over a hundred.

Summer makes me think of….

Luscious strawberries, fruits of the forest, melons, and peaches and cream.

We used to have barbecues by people's pools and picnics on the beach, but not since Covid.

Swimming in clear blue seas…but this year, we have warnings of poisonous sea snakes…ugh. We do usually have jellyfish too, and sharks in some areas. But I've never seen sea snakes before.

I love to watch people learning to do water sports and usually grab a sunbed on a private hotel beach, but this year seems to have hundreds of tourists coming for the sunshine. I like lonely beaches, just the sea and sand, shells, and rock pools.

What do you like to do in the summer?

I enjoy long summer evenings in restaurants or bars or coffee bars by the sea, watching the sun sink into the sea from the sky.

I used to enjoy sailing when my friends had yachts, jumping into the cool deep blue sea.

Think I need a new swimsuit, as I've worn the same one for years. LOL

We also have a beautiful hotel in the capital with huge gardens, and sometimes we pay for a day around a pool by the sea, but that's rare these days.

Post memes, gifs, music, trailers, and stor

ies with a summer theme. Remember to respect all commenters, and most of all enjoy. No politics …no religious comments, please.

Stop the world…I want to get off

For many years before starting work, I used to enjoy reading the news.

I loved the feel of the crisp black and white print, the colourful pictures, news items, jokes, catching up with film stars, money pages, and problem pages. Theatre, movies.

However, I haven’t bought a paper in years now. Watch repeat movies on tv…rarely go to the theatre.

The daily ritual of reading the news continues….with either dread, horror or some boredom.

Usually, I skip many articles these days, especially the violence.

The news becomes more and more BIZARRE, coloured with oddity.

The world is becoming a difficult place to negotiate on a daily basis.

This week Karl Largerfelds's cat inherited 1.3 million dollars? Perhaps a loving home might be a better inheritance for a family pet.

A person was dismissed from work for considering marriage should be between a male and a female. What’s odd about that?

A star admitted to never reading a book! He would not be on my social list, books have always been essential to education and leisure time. Can we progress without knowledge? It used to be…kiss a frog, he may turn into a Prince. Now Charles will be King.

What are your thoughts on the above?

Post memes, gifs, music, thoughts, trai

lers….Respect all commenters

Most of all, enjoy.

Let’s thank Kieran for his help with some technical problems too.
